Two new courses and registration deadlines approaching

Hereby we share with you the latest news on the AUAS Summer School which will take place in Amsterdam from 4-15 July 2022. In this newsletter you may find information about two new summer courses, the approaching deadline for courses with a guarantee on housing, a sneak peak of the social programme and information about making travel arrangements. Be sure to inform your students!

Two new courses

Last month, we have added two new courses to the AUAS Summer School programme: the four-day Transformation Design Experience and the two-week course Digital Brand Engagement with Data Story Telling:

Transformation Design Experience

Monday 4 July 2022 - Thursday 7 July 2022

The perfect 4 day programme for educators, team lea‍ds, curriculum designers‍, coordinators, managers or researchers who feel the need to organise (and design) a transformation within their organization. Students will learn how to pave the way for sustainable (digital) transformation and inspire teams towards new mindsets. They will work on enriching their heads, hearts and hands with a mix of self-learning and peer-learning, indoor and outdoor activities, inspirational sessions to feed the brain and moments to spend on well-being.

Digital Brand Engagement with Data Story Telling

Monday 4 July 2022 – Friday 15 July 2022

During this course (suitable for bachelor students, master students and professionals) students bring themselves up to speed with current and relevant academic developments in the field of consumer branding and digital engagement. Through interaction with different subject matter experts, case studies and social media listening tools, they approach the topic of brand engagement from different angles. Students will develop analytic skills regarding engagement on online (social) platforms, attend guest lectures from experts in the field and visit companies who bring brand management and strategies into practice.

Deadline for registration with housing is approaching!

Summer School students can arrange housing on their own, or make use of housing arranged by AUAS*. We offer a private room with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Please note that the student rooms arranged by AUAS are similar to social housing in the Netherlands, and therefore might be less comfortable than students are used to from their own universities. We recommend that they bring their own comforts from home. To claim a spot in an AUAS student housing facility, students must register before 22 May.

* Please note that housing is optional and not available for every course. To check whether housing can be arranged by AUAS, please refer to the practical information on the course page.

Sneak peak: the AUAS Summer School Social Programme!

Besides our challenging courses, we also offer an exciting social programme with many fun activities. We cannot yet give away all the details, but we can say this: students will enjoy plenty of time to explore the city, make friends and relax! For more details, please refer to the social programme page on our website.

AUAS Summer School students have to sign up for the social activities in advance. They will receive an email with registration link on 1 June.

Advice regarding travel arrangements

For the time being, we advise participants to apply normally for the AUAS Summer School 2022. This includes paying the tuition fee and (if relevant) the housing fee.

At the same time, although the situation concerning the corona pandemic has changed for the better, we cannot rule out that future developments may affect travel arrangements. Therefore we advise our students to not make any travel arrangements before the AUAS Summer School has confirmed that the summer course they applied for will proceed. All registered participants of the AUAS Summer School will receive an email about this by the beginning of June.
